I purchased a LG 68cm flat screen, HD television from Harvey Norman in High Point Shopping Centre Victoria.

At the time of purchase I obtained an extended Warranty policy with the product. This has provided a warranty for 7 years, being a 3 year manufacturers warranty and a 4 year extended warranty. When the television made stopped operating and made a nasty smell in January, 2008, I rang to have the television fixed as there was nearly 12 months of Warranty left.

I rang the Harvey Norman Extended Warranty number, which is in fact I C Frith, being an insurance agent, acting on behalf of Harvey Norman. They have failed to resolve the issues since January and we are now nearly at Easter. The Warranty will expire before the issues are resolved, the Television is beyond economical repair and they are now talking about depreciation of the product, however they as yet have not made any offer or attempted to resolve the issue of the expired television. We are being told that LG have to approve what is to be offered. At this point the issue has been ongoing since the second week in January, 2008 and we are now less than a week from Easter 2008.
